Overdosing on Crazy Pills

I'd like to start off this edition of "They Think You're Fucking Stupid" with the esteemed writer, Hayes Brown.  According to MSNBC, "he helps frame the news of the day for readers."  News means information.  Information means facts.  Facts are things proved to be true.  Maybe MSNBC means "frame" in the slang sense as to "conspire to incriminate." #themoreyouknow  The quotes below come from an article about the new Texas abortion law.  We'll get into that topic another time.  #mybodymyirresponsibility

This is a very interesting "opinion"/misstatement of fact/complete dump truck full of horseshit.  Democrats are utterly committed to obtaining power when they don't have it, as well as, being utterly committed to keeping a stranglehold on that power when they do have it.  #frommycolddeadhands  Tell those fighters for justice in the swing states that unconstitutionally changed voting laws for the 2020 election about their utter commitment to following the rules. #weallknowrulesareracist

The filibuster is still alive, because of one reason, maybe two.  The driving reason is that they have yet to cement themselves into power.  Unless they implement all of their "anti suppression voter legislation," they know they will be back in the minority once again in 2022 and will need their favorite tool to be available.  They also don't really have the votes to do it yet.  Democracy works only when they get to do whatever they want. #inmatesrunningtheasylum

Now that the Democrats are in power (House, Senate, White House), they desperately need to keep it that way.  #sayhellotomylittlefriend  Their favorite weapon, the filibuster, can now be used by the enemy, those evil white supremacist insurrectionists.  But unless a lifetime democratic majority can be ensured, getting rid of the filibuster is like throwing your AR-15 in the ocean while warring with an army of evil aquamen. #pleasedontkillme  [special note:  This fictional race of aquapeople is a very patriarchal society.  Aquawomen are not allowed to serve in their military. #respectotherculturesnormsyouracist]    

A 50/50 Senate doesn't give them the full power that they crave given that 67 votes are required to pass a bill in the Senate.  #rockmeethardplace
